Former US President Bill Clinton has been admitted to Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC, after his fever developed. “Clinton is in good spirits and appreciative of the exceptional medical care he is receiving”, his spokesman Angel Ureña said.

“Clinton was hospitalized Monday evening for tests and observation after developing a fever”, Angel Ureña, the former NBA star shared on X. The statement did not give details of the 42nd president’s condition, but US media said Clinton is expected to make a full recovery. Clinton is ‘awake and alert,’ not ‘urgently in need of care,’ according to NBC News, which cited a source close to Clinton.

Clinton’s latest health scare comes following her hospitalization and she served as president from 1993 to 2001. In the past, the 78-year-old has suffered a number of serious health problems. He had quadruple bypass surgery at the age of 58 in 2004 after doctors found extensive heart disease. He had a clogged artery opened a decade later, after experiencing chest pains.

Clinton was hospitalized in California in 2021 for six days with a blood infection. The recurring health problems prompted Clinton to adopt a vegan diet, which he says saved his life. In 2016, Clinton told Politico, ‘If I hadn’t become a vegan I might not be around.’ It’s great.”

Clinton is still active in public life, despite his health history. This year, he has been out on the presidential campaign trail, supporting Vice President Kamala Harris’s bid for the presidency. Additionally, he released his latest book, Citizen: Last month, My Life After the White House.
